High-Visibility Vest
A high-visibility vest is a bright, reflective jacket you put on before stepping out of the car at the roadside. Its job is simple but vital: to make you easy to see, especially at night or in poor weather, while you set up a triangle or change a tyre.
Like the warning triangle, it is required kit in Morocco and much of Europe, and the rental car should carry at least one. Keep it inside the cabin rather than the boot, so you can put it on before you open the door into traffic.
For a family or full car, more than one vest is sensible, since everyone who gets out should be visible. It is cheap to buy a couple of spares if you want to be sure there are enough.
Check at pickup that a vest is present and reachable. Reaching for one in the boot while standing in a live traffic lane defeats the purpose — the whole point is to be wearing it before you are exposed.
