Article 1: Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms carry the meanings defined below: "You" or "Renter" refers to the person signing the rental agreement and any authorized driver permitted to operate the vehicle. "Youssef Office" or "the Company" refers to Youssef Office Car Rental, registered in the Kingdom of Morocco. "Vehicle" means any passenger or commercial car rented under this agreement. "Damage" includes any physical harm to the vehicle, including glass breakage and mirror damage. "MAD" refers to the Moroccan Dirham, the official currency of Morocco.
Article 2: Rental Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Youssef Office, the renter must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age (drivers aged 18 to 20 are subject to a daily surcharge of 200 MAD)
- Hold a valid driving license issued at least 12 months prior to the rental date
- Present a valid passport or national identity card
- Provide a valid residential address and contact phone number
- Pay in advance the estimated rental cost plus the security deposit amount
Article 3: Vehicle Condition and Use
3.1 Vehicle Condition at Pickup
The renter is required to inspect the vehicle and document any pre-existing damage before departure. If no observations are reported, the vehicle is considered delivered in good condition as stated in the pickup report. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was received, otherwise the renter bears all repair and cleaning costs.
3.2 Usage Restrictions
The following uses of the vehicle are strictly prohibited:
- Crossing international borders without prior written authorization from Youssef Office
- Transporting passengers for hire or subletting the vehicle to a third party
- Participating in races, trials, rallies, or competitions of any kind
- Loading the vehicle beyond its specified capacity or using it for towing
- Driving off paved roads or in conditions that may cause damage to the vehicle
- Leaving the vehicle unlocked or with keys in the ignition while unattended
Pets are allowed inside the vehicle, however additional cleaning fees may apply upon return.
3.3 Maintenance and Breakdowns
The renter is responsible for performing routine checks during the rental period (oil level, tire pressure, coolant). Tire damage not caused by normal wear requires immediate replacement at the renter's expense with tires matching original specifications. For mechanical breakdowns not caused by misuse, Youssef Office provides complimentary roadside assistance.
Article 4: Rental Duration
4.1 Duration Calculation
Rental periods are calculated in indivisible 24-hour blocks from the time the vehicle is made available, with a 30-minute grace period before an additional day is charged. Renters wishing to extend the rental must contact Youssef Office before the agreed return time.
4.2 End of Rental
The rental agreement ends only upon returning the vehicle, keys, and documents to a Youssef Office representative during official working hours. Keys must be handed over to an authorized agent exclusively. If the vehicle is returned to a different location than the pickup point, a relocation fee of 5 MAD per kilometer to the nearest station applies.
Article 5: Pricing and Payment
5.1 Pricing
Prices reflect those in effect on the date the contract is signed. The basic rate does not include fuel costs. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup, otherwise the renter pays 10 MAD per liter plus a 200 MAD service charge. Using the wrong fuel type incurs a minimum penalty of 2,500 MAD.
5.2 Additional Charges
- Excessively dirty vehicle: 600 MAD
- Child safety seat: 60 MAD/day (maximum 500 MAD per rental)
- Damaged child seat: 1,200 MAD
- Destroyed tire: 2,500 MAD per piece
- Lost keys or documents: 1,500 MAD per item
- Lost registration plate: 250 MAD
- Unauthorized border crossing: 30,000 MAD penalty
5.3 Security Deposit
A pre-authorized security deposit ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 MAD is held on the credit card depending on the vehicle category. The amount is refunded within 14 days of returning the vehicle provided no violations or damages are reported. Debit cards are not accepted for deposits.
5.4 Early Returns and Cancellations
No refunds are issued for early returns or unused rental days. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup incur a cancellation fee of 800 MAD. No refunds are granted for cancellations made after the scheduled pickup date and time.
Article 6: Insurance and Assistance
All Youssef Office vehicles carry mandatory Third Party Liability insurance as required by Moroccan law. Optional supplementary Driver and Passenger insurance is available at fixed daily rates. Full details of insurance coverage are provided in the insurance booklet available at the rental desk.
Article 7: Late Arrival Policy
Reservations are held for two hours past the scheduled pickup time. After this period, the vehicle may be made available to other customers. For delayed flights, Youssef Office keeps the desk open provided the correct flight number was included in the reservation. Out-of-hours fees apply for pickups outside standard operating hours (07:00 to 22:00 daily).
Article 8: Accidents and Emergencies
In case of an accident, the renter must notify Youssef Office immediately and submit an accident report along with the police statement. A flat fee of 500 MAD is charged to cover towing, investigation, and vehicle replacement costs. Failure to report an accident makes the renter liable for the full cost of repairs.
