Warning Triangle
A warning triangle is a folding reflective triangle you set up on the road behind your car if you have to stop unexpectedly — a breakdown, a flat tyre, or an accident. It warns approaching drivers in time to slow down and move over.
It is legally required equipment in Morocco and across most of Europe, and it should already be in the rental car, usually in the boot or under the parcel shelf. Before you drive off, it is worth checking it is actually there.
Using it correctly matters: place it a good distance behind the car — further on a fast road — and on the same side as the vehicle, so traffic sees it well before it reaches you. Put your hazard lights on as well.
If you ever can’t find it after a breakdown, that is a problem, so confirm its presence at pickup along with the other mandatory items. A missing triangle is both a safety risk and a possible fine at a checkpoint.
