GPS Navigation
GPS navigation guides you to a destination with turn-by-turn directions, using satellite positioning to know where you are. It is the feature that turns driving in an unfamiliar country from a stressful guessing game into simply following clear instructions.
On a rental you have two routes to it: a built-in navigation screen in the car, or your own phone running a maps app, often mirrored on the car’s display through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both get you there; the phone version usually has the most up-to-date maps and live traffic.
For Morocco it is genuinely valuable. City layouts, one-way medina edges and long rural routes are far easier with a guide, and live traffic can route you around jams in places like Casablanca.
One practical tip: download offline maps before you travel in case of patchy signal on remote roads, and if you rely on your phone, make sure you have a way to keep it charged and mounted where you can see it safely.
