Two days minimum, and Tangier uses both. The first is the town: the Grand Socco, the medina on foot, the Arkana left near the Marshan and taken out for the short hops between the stops; the second is the N13 to Chefchaouen, 112 km from the airport in 2 h 27, a road that climbs and where the automatic gearbox picks the gear for you.
The rate includes insurance and unlimited mileage, so the climb to Chefchaouen and the drive back are not metered.
Handover where you arrive: at Tanger Ville port as you leave the ferry, at your riad or apartment in the Marshan or the centre, or at Ibn Battouta airport, 12.7 km and 31 minutes from the Grand Socco. Ferry time, flight number or address on WhatsApp, and the car is confirmed.
Ferry day. The Arkana takes the two suitcases at the port exit and climbs to the Marshan without a hand on the gear lever; the Grand Socco is walked, the medina too, and the car waits near your address. Flying in instead, Ibn Battouta is 12.7 km from the Grand Socco, 31 minutes.
Mountain day. The N13 leaves Tangier for Chefchaouen, 2 h 27 for 112 km from the airport; the diesel engine pulls up the climb and the automatic gearbox holds the car on the way down.
Shorter alternative: Tétouan, 61.6 km by the N2 in 1 h 32 from the airport. Either way the mileage is unlimited, so the choice is about time, not price.

Give the ferry company and arrival time on WhatsApp; delays are followed, and the Arkana is at the port exit when you come through.
Two suitcases
The coupé boot takes two cases; anything more rides on the back seat, so travel as a couple.
