In the centre of Tangier and on the Marshan, the parking space is the real question, and the Fiat 500 answers it before anything else: three doors, a city car's length, it slips into the gap left between two cars where a saloon keeps circling. The automatic gearbox does the rest in the narrow streets.
Four seats and one suitcase in the boot: a car for one person, or for two with a bag each, on a short stay. For a family and its luggage, the Creta or the Sportage are more at ease; for two days in the centre, the 500 is the right size.

The centre of Tangier is covered in short loops: a café, an address on the Marshan, a return along the Malabata corniche. The 500 threads through, stops, sets off again in automatic, and parks in half a space when that is all that is left.
From Ibn Battouta, 12.7 km and 31 minutes to the centre, the suitcase in the boot. From Tanger Ville port, handover is at the exit, and you are in the centre straight away.
A day out to Tétouan happens without a thought, 61.6 km on the N2. Beyond that, on the N13 to Chefchaouen, the 500 gets there, but the Creta in the same automatic format will be more comfortable for 2 h 27 of road.
Parking
In the centre, aim for the spaces the saloons leave behind: the 500 goes in with a single manoeuvre.
Marshan
If your accommodation is on the Marshan, ask for handover at the door; the automatic handles those streets well.
