In Marrakech the car is for getting out of town: a morning in the Ourika valley, a day in Essaouira, the run to a hotel in the Palmeraie. For a family doing those trips over a week, the Sportage is the right balance of space, comfort and fuel use.
The petrol-electric hybrid charges itself as you drive. In Gueliz traffic it often runs on the electric motor alone, and on the Ourika road or the N8 to Essaouira it stays frugal. Five seats, four suitcases, automatic gearbox, air conditioning.

From Marrakech Menara airport to the centre is 6.2 km and 16 minutes: the car is useful from the moment you leave the plane, especially with a family's luggage. In the medina you walk, and the car stays in the riad's or hotel's parking.
The Ourika valley is the simplest outing: 61.9 km on the P2017 to Setti Fatma, about 1 h 41. Leave in the morning, have lunch by the river, be back by late afternoon.
Essaouira takes the day: 176 km on the N8 in 2 h 52, or the A7 toll motorway, 194 km in 2 h 47. Over those distances the hybrid engine shows at the pump, and unlimited mileage covers the round trip.

Ask the riad or hotel where to leave the car before you reach the medina's lanes.

In summer leave early for Ourika or Essaouira and keep the air conditioning for the drive back.
