One-Way Fee (Drop Fee)
A one-way fee, sometimes called a drop fee, applies when you collect the car in one city and leave it in another. It covers the cost the rental company faces in getting that vehicle back to where it is needed, which is why the amount grows with the distance between the two points.
For a road trip across Morocco it can be a genuine convenience — fly into Marrakech, drive south through the desert, and fly home from Agadir without doubling back. The fee buys you that freedom.
The size varies a lot. A drop within the same region may be modest or even waived on a promotion; a long cross-country one-way can be significant. It is always worth asking whether a round trip back to the original branch works out cheaper overall.
Confirm the one-way fee in writing before you book, and make sure the drop-off branch is open when you plan to arrive, or you may also trigger an out-of-hours charge.
