Automatic Transmission
An automatic transmission shifts gears by itself, so there is no clutch pedal and no manual gear lever to manage. You press the accelerator and the brake, steer, and the car handles the rest. For many drivers it is simply easier and less tiring.
It is a real advantage in stop-start city traffic and on long drives, where constant manual shifting becomes a chore. If you have only ever driven automatics, it is also essential — you may not legally or comfortably be able to drive a manual.
The catch in this part of the world is supply and price. Manual cars are more common and cheaper in Morocco and much of Europe, so automatics are often a smaller share of the fleet, sit in a higher price band, and should be booked early to be sure of getting one.
If you need an automatic, reserve it specifically rather than assuming — the third letter of the ACRISS code is "A" for automatic and "M" for manual. Booking the right code avoids an unwelcome surprise at the desk.
