Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection covers the scenario CDW does not: the car being stolen, or damaged while someone tries to steal it. With TP in place, your liability for that loss is capped at an excess rather than the full value of the vehicle.
It almost always comes with a strict condition — you must report the theft to the police and hand the rental company an official report, usually within 24 hours. Lose the keys or leave the car unlocked and the protection can collapse, because the insurer treats that as negligence.
In a European-style rental, which is how most Moroccan agencies operate, TP is the second half of the picture alongside CDW. Together they mirror what an American quote would call LDW.
Practical tip: never leave bags, electronics or documents visible inside a parked rental. Theft Protection covers the car, not what is in it — that is a different add-on called Personal Effects Coverage.
